Walks and Wildlife

Although less than ten minutes from the Margaret River town site, Pinda Lodge is set in a delightful rural setting. The 1.6 hectares (four acres) of undulating landscape is home to a myriad of wildlife. The peppermint shaded creek feeds into the Margaret River below and harbours possums, owls and a variety of birds. At last count 35 different species of birds visit the native gardens surrounding Pinda Lodge to bath, feed and rear their young. Some of the delightful birds to be seen include: kookaburras, parrots, robins, wrens, cockatoos and honeyeaters.

Kangaroos graze on the front lawn in the early mornings and evenings and drink out of the pond at the bottom of the garden.  Kangaroos

The lovely walk which starts beyond the gazebo and pond and follows the Margaret River to the waterfall is inspiring. Stroll past unique architecture, vineyards, orchards, forest and a host of wildflowers in season. Kookaburras, kangaroos and many birds will be spotted.
